How my practice is helping the world.

Psychotherapy is good for the world in obvious ways. Here are some not-so-obvious ways that my practice in particular is helping.

-I offer sliding scale slots to a number of people in need.

-I pay what’s called Shuumi Land Tax every year to the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust. This is a contribution that non-Indigenous people living on traditional Lisjan Ohlone territory can make to support the returning of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.

-For years, I donated $5 per session to the Rainforest Trust. This project offset the equivalent of about 4000 American lifetime carbon footprints, saved millions of trees, and protected dozens of endangered species. I now continue to support the Rainforest Trust as well as a variety of other organizations.

-My home office is powered by 100% solar. My Berkeley office is partially powered by solar.

-I either bike or drive an electric car to work.

-I use 100% recycled paper for all my printing and mailing needs.

-I use Ridwell, a recycling company that goes above and beyond standard recycling.
